TTS Tips

Below are a some tips on using TTS in your campaigns:

Use a combination of pre-recorded and TTS messages

VoiceShot allows you to combine pre-recorded message with TTS messages.  Text to speech sounds good, but pre-recorded messages sound better.  So if the call you want to send to a call recipient is:

Message 1: "This is a voice alert from my company.  You have received the following message:"

Message 2: "The Web server at 127.0.0.1 is down"

Message 3: "Press 1 to confirm this alert and disable future alerts.  Press 2 to snooze alert, reminder alert will be sent in 9 minutes.  Press the # key to listen to this alert again."

Messgae 1 and 3 never change.  They should be pre-recorded.  The middle message is dynamic and should be TTS.

Format phone numbers as 818-223-8964

This formatting tells the TTS engine to speak this number as a phone number as opposed to a generic number

Text in all capital letters is spoken a character at a time

FYI would be spoken "ef wy eye"
